Missions at MVFUMC
Faith in Action Coordinator: Kay Martin

"Our mission as a congregation is to strengthen our personal and group relationship with Christ and to reach out to all people through faith in action."

As evidenced in Mount Vernon First United Methodist Church's (MVFUMC) mission statement (see above), one of the main things that we are called to do is to reach out to others through 'faith in action'. What is faith in action? At its simplest level, it is expressing your faith and love for God by using your talents, gifts, and time to serve people. This can be done in many ways - by donating to a food bank, taking time to visit lonely individuals in nursing homes, or going on a mission trip to build a school. MVFUMC provides many opportunities for faith in action, with frequent short-term projects and several ongoing projects, information about which is in the tabs under 'Serve'.

If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to contact the church at office@mvfumc.org or at 360-424-3628.
